New York Fashion Week Spring ’16 – Hervé Léger by Max Azria

It was a big day for legendary Hervé Léger due to its 30th anniversary! To celebrate the occasion and keep long time admirers happy, Azria put a show including minidresses, trousers, metallic colours yet no bandage technique! Anybody familiar with the brand is well aware that Hervé Léger is the king of bandage dresses. Nevertheless, spring ’16 presentation did not showcase any shades of bandage technique. Despite the risk, Azria and her creative team managed to preserve DNA of Hervé Léger.

Hourglass-hugging silhouettes were still in present, new techniques such as floral appliqués on tank dresses were presented and  some woven cords on a sleeveless dress, slightly curved for a slenderizing trompe l’oeil effect were considered one of the favourite steps of the brand’s new direction. Another yet surprising manifestation was the comeback of trousers. Either under the dress or in the form of jumpsuit an effect was accomplished to justify the masculine sex appeal.
