While whole world becomes more environmental friendly; fashion industry can not act neglectful. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) provides a golden opportunity to the new designers  due to their creativeness with the environment in mind.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Lexus yearly challenges emerging designers to develop proposals for a sustainable clothing or accessory line with the environment as well as sustainability in mind. And this year event was held in NY. The young designers participated in competition got support in terms of their eco-friendly designs. And this year’s CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge’s winners were revealed yesterday. The three winners of this year’s challenge are: Marcia Patmos from New York, NY; John Bartlett from New York, NY; and Johnson Hartig of Libertine from Los Angeles, Calif.

The committed principle of the contest was that the designs require to be produced of minimum of 25 percent of the environmentally-friendly manner. Many of the proposals included components such as recycled plastic, reclaimed wood, minimal packaging and non-chemically treated fabrics. And the good thing is that the winners are set to receive $25,000 to bring their collections to life and produce a fashion show during February ’12 Fashion Week in NY.

Can’t wait to see the eco-sustainable collections!

Marcia Patmos, New York, NY; John Bartlett, New York, NY ve Johnson Hartig of Libertine, Los Angeles, Calif. bu yılın kazananları.
