D&G is over!

Breaking news just arrived from Milan. Since we all know nowadays Milan Fashion Week is currently being held in the center of fashion.

However I would like to share the latest bomb that left me speechless. D&G hit the runway yesterday and given that just after releasing their latest collection of upcoming spring; their international press statement was unveiled.

According to the statement; Domenico Dolce ve Stefano Gabbana came up with the solution of closing down D&G. The situation we came across has made me think on all matters. However on the basis of the current circumstances and wavy markets of luxury fashion industry, it is better to focus on one label. Knowing that legendary fashion house has two labels under its own name (D&G and Dolce & Gabbana).

Once they close down D&G, they will channel their whole energy and inspirations for the Dolce & Gabbana that is widely known as the brand’s number one enterprise. Compared to D&G, more classical milestone Dolce & Gabbana has more valuable asset.

Efsanevi moda devi ( korsaj üstler ve leopar desenin moda dünyasına 90 ların başında çivilenmek suretiyle kazandırılmasını sağlayan Dolce & Gabbana’ dan başkası değildir!), halihazırda devam etmekte olan Milan Moda Haftası kapsamında; D&G markası için önümüzdeki sezon defilesini gerçekleştirdi. Fakat defileden çok sonrasında gelen haber kulisleri karıştırdı.

Domenico Dolce ve Stefano Gabbana tarafından 25 yıldır moda dünyasını kasıp kavuran moda evi, iki alt markayı bünyesinde taşımakta. D&G ve Dolce&Gabbana. Yapılan resmi açıklamayla belirtildiği üzere; D&G son defilesini dün yaptı.

İkili, tüm enerjilerini ve ilham nöronlarını Dolce & Gabbana üzerine yoğunlaştırma kararı aldı. Modanın ve özellikle lüks tüketimin içine girdiği girdap ve global pazarların kritik dolanbacı düşünüldüğünde, sadece bir markaya odaklanmak, finansal anlamda yapılabilecek en doğru hareketlerden biri…

Hele ki markaya uzun vadede en büyük potansiyeli getiren oluşumun daha klasik çizgideki Dolce & Gabbana olduğu düşünüldüğünde; sokak stili ve daha genç bir kitleye hitap eden D&G’ nin jübilesini hakla bir karar olarak değerlendirmekten başka yol kalmıyor.
